As a part of CEC’s ongoing commitment to athlete well-being, we are pleased to share the newly created Mental Health Emergency Action Plan (MHEAP).
This policy, created in collaboration with Dr. Lauren McBride, R.Psych, Mental Health Practitioner at CSI Pacific, provides guidelines to help athletes and staff identify and navigate Mental Health emergencies both in Canada and while traveling to International events. This policy will be used in conjunction with Mental Health First Aid Training for HPP athletes and staff. These initiatives are part of the CEC’s overall plan to address Athlete Mental Well-Being.
This important project was only possible through the help of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC).
If you have any questions or would like to use this as a template to create a similar policy for your club program, please contact Andrew Wilson (CEC High Performance Director): hpd@climbingcanada.ca
